Five Months...halfway there!

Here I am at 21 weeks (disclaimer: I didn't do my hair and I don't have any make-up on). This is definitely the biggest month-to-month change so far! I went to the doctor on July 2nd and weighed in at 115lbs. That's 10 lbs more than my first visit back in April so I'm pretty much right on track. I've been cooking and baking a lot lately (i.e. today I made zucchini bread, cookie dough, and spaghetti sauce!), so hopefully my weight doesn't jump too much before my next appointment!

And introducing.....

Here is our baby! We got this sonogram on July 3rd and it was so exciting to see how much our baby has grown since the first sonogram. The technician couldn't confirm boy or girl parts so we're still not sure what we're having. Bryan is still convinced that it's a girl. My doctor said I won't get another sonogram unless there's a reason, so we may have to wait until November to find out. The technician did show us the stomach, kidneys, and lungs, which was really cool to see. We could see the legs and arms (see the hand waving to you?) and the baby was dancing all around. The whole experience was awesome and everyday we're more and more excited to meet our baby.

The Fourth of July

For Fourth of July weekend, we went to Kentucky to see Bryan's family. We spent a day in Louisville and then headed to The Red River Gorge to the cabin (which we always refer to as "the gorge"). I don't realize how much technology consumes my time until I'm at the gorge and we are forced to relax. It's always a nice change. We played board games (I am the champion of Uno!), went hiking, ate lots of good food (Blackberry Cake - YUM!), and just spent quality time with each other.

Libby and I take a picture break during our hike. (This was right before she and Jaxon claimed they "couldn't walk ANYMORE!"). We all made it home in one piece and I used our long hike as an excuse to eat more cake!

Artie visits Baltimore

At the end of June, Bryan's best friend (and Best Man) flew to Baltimore for some golf and baseball. They played golf during the day and then the three of us drove to DC to watch the Orioles vs. Nationals. The new Nationals Stadium just opened this season and it's right in the heart of DC. The game was pretty crowded since the fans were either from DC or Baltimore (which created A LOT of traffic on the way home!). We bought tickets from some guy on the street and ended up in the highest row in the stadium! The seats were behind home plate, though, which is what the guy promised! The whole night was an adventure...that always seems to happen when Artie is around! ;)

We thought we found prime parking - until we had to walk around the stadium and up 7 stories to get to our seats! The parking lot wasn't so close anymore!

Here's the view from our "prime" seats!

Here's Bry and me. (Notice the fence behind us - that is the top of the stadium!)

Diamond's Birthday

Diamond turned one on June 21st. To celebrate, we went to her favorite place - the field by our house. She loves to run around an play catch with her ball. She recently discovered that running through the woods is REALLY fun! The first time she did it, I got worried that she was going to keep running and I'd have to call Bryan and tell him that I lost our dog! She came back, though, and now it doesn't worry me. She's such a baby that she doesn't like to be away from us for long! I think she really enjoyed her special day!

She was taking a break after running around. I think the grass cools her down; she likes to stretch out and cool off after running around like crazy.

She was really worn out!

To celebrate her birthday, we got her a cupcake from the Doggie Bakery. She wasn't sure what to do with it, but once she realized it was food, she was all over it!

In honor of Diamond, Bryan and I went out to dinner. Here I am after we got home. This was around the time my belly really started to pop - or was I just full from dinner?!

Here's my handsome husband, Bryan. What a beautiful family I have!

Four months and counting...

So I am now 17 weeks pregnant. I feel like my belly grew overnight! Even people at work are now noticing that I'm showing. My next appointment is in 2 weeks and then I'll get to schedule my ultrasound. I wonder if it's a boy or a girl???

I had to buy some new clothes but I haven't ventured into the maternity department yet. The bella band has been great - I can still wear some of my old pants with the band holding them up. I haven't had any unusual cravings, I've just been eating foods that I don't usually eat. My favorite right now is potato chips (unsalted, of course!). I always crave eat ice cream, but that's nothing new!

Bryan has been handling my mood swings and constant comments on my changing body wonderfully. I'm so lucky to have such a great guy to be sharing my life with!

Viva Las Vegas!

This year we went to Vegas for Memorial Day weekend. My brother plays in a baseball tournament every year and it's given my family an excuse to fly out for the weekend. Last time I went was in 2005 and that trip consisted of my sister's luggage getting lost until the last day and my 80-year old Grandmother being serenaded at the karaoke bar. This year Bryan and I decided to fly out and meet my parents, his mom, his sister and his brother-in-law. The weather was cooler than normal and rained a bit but it was perfect for walking around, which we did LOTS of! I didn't mind so much, though, since it burned all the calories I ate! We had a lot of fun playing the slots (I'll stick to the penny machines!) and spending time with our families.

Bryan and I at the Wee Kirk Chapel where Leslie and Josh renewed their vows.

Who needs taxis? We thought squeezing in the car would be fun. Whose idea was that?!

The family minus one...since we live all over the country we can never seem to ALL get together at the same time!

Three Months....

Okay, this is NOT my favorite picture but since I'll only be three months pregnant once, I had to post it. My belly looks a little bit bigger and my hair is shorter (which had nothing to do with being pregnant. That was me thinking cutting my hair would stop the frizziness I've been dealing with on the humid days we've had here in Maryland.) but other than that, I think I've pretty much stayed the same. I haven't been sick once, which is great! I hope I don't start getting morning sickness in the coming months. I'm thankful every day that goes by for the miracle Bryan and I are blessed with.
